“Isole mai trovate - Islands never found” è la prima tappa di un itinerario che portera' le opere esposte, in Francia e Grecia.

Grandi artisti contemporanei di fama internazionale interpretano la propria isola mai trovata attraverso opere straordinarie, alcune delle quali inedite. Installazioni, video, fotografie, sculture, disegni e dipinti conducono il visitatore in un viaggio, dove ogni isola – una metafora di vita e di ricerca continua – rimanda ai motivi, alle domande, ai dubbi sul significato stesso dell’esistenza.
Gli artisti che partecipano al progetto intraprendono un viaggio senza rotta, una navigazione eterna, con il dubbio che l’approdo possa essere in realtà un non luogo, un’utopia, un semplice territorio del desiderio, e dunque irraggiungibile.
Curata da Lóránd Hegyi, Direttore Generale del Musée d’Art Moderne di St-Etienne – museo che ospita la seconda collezione più importante di arte moderna di Francia – e da Katarina Koskina, Presidente del Museo di Stato di Arte Contemporanea di Salonicco, l’esposizione toccherà anche altri prestigiosi porti in Francia, Grecia e Spagna.
La mostra è promossa e organizzata da Palazzo Ducale Fondazione per la Cultura, insieme al Musée d’Art Moderne di St-Etienne e il Museo di Stato di Arte Contemporanea di Salonicco, in collaborazione con Solares Fondazione delle Arti.


Leading, internationally renowned contemporary artists interpret their very own islands never found through a series of extraordinary works – some never before exhibited.
Installations, videos, photographs, sculptures, drawings and paintings take the visitor on a journey, where each island – a metaphor for life and constant exploration – raises questions and doubts about the very meaning of life.
The artists taking part in this project have embarked on a journey through uncharted waters, on a never-ending voyage, continually haunted by the possibility that the
destination might in fact be a non-place, a utopia, a simple territory of desire – and therefore beyond reach.
Curated by Lóránd Hegyi, General Director of the Musée d’Art Moderne in St-Etienne – a museum which houses the second largest collection of modern art in France – and by Katarina Koskina, President of the Thessaloniki State Museum of Contemporary Art, the exhibition will be calling at other celebrated ports in France and Greece.
The exhibition has been promoted and organized by the Palazzo Ducale Foundation for Culture together with the St-Etienne Musée d’Art Moderne and the Thessaloniki State Museum of Contemporary Art, and in collaboration with the Solares Foundation.
